Citizens of Three Mountains,
As many of you know, we have spent the last month open to accepting letters of intent and nomination for those wishing to become the next Baron and Baroness of Three Mountains. One letter of intent was submitted to Their Majesties An Tir and to Us. Below is the letter we received:
To Their Majesties An Tir, Christian and Helene, and to Their Excellencies Three Mountains Sebastiaen & Erika,
Know now that it is in our hearts to place our Lives upon the Hazard and do hereby submit ourselves for Baronial Candidacy. Our names are Companion Vivian NicUldoon and Dotore Decimus Felix Varus, known to some as Skamp Widegrin.
We have given a combined total of nearly 50 years to the Society, with An Tir, long may she prosper, receiving the sum of our efforts. Our travels and friendships have seen sunrise the very length and breadth of our fair kingdom. From Glyn Dwfn to Lion’s Gate, we have shared our hearth, laughter, food, and knowledge with open hearts and arms.
We have grown up in the Society and have been joyously repaying our upbringing in a variety of ways. Vivian has held office in Terra Pomaria and Three Mountains as well as Stewarding many baronial and kingdom events. For his part, Felix has held office as Three Mountains Knight Marshal and Baronial Seneschal. Both traveling bards, it has long been our mission to educate and entertain at the night fires through story and song.
We believe that knowledge and education are a path and not merely a destination. Along our path, we have both been recognized as Pelicans and continue to learn, teach and serve in our home barony as well as the larger kingdom.
We believe that willing, competent service is the life’s blood of the society. Many hands, directed by decisive leadership keep the dream fed and healthy. Empowering new members with encouragement, escalating responsibility and timely recognition is what grows a Barony and keeps its long time members from feeling obligated to shoulder the full weight of Baronial endeavors. It is our great desire to actively encourage new membership within the Barony through cross training, sponsored demonstrations, and growing community.

Should your majesties and the populace of Three Mountains find in your wisdom that it is right and just to so honor us with the great responsibility of the Coronet of Three Mountains, we will do our utmost to see this Fair land flourish under our stewardship.

After consideration, Their Majesties have found Felix and Vivian acceptable candidates. As there are no other candidates to consider, their Majesties are holding a confidence polling. Our candidates will be available for the scheduled Meet & Greets on October 21st and Saturday October 27th, which will follow the Baronial Orders Meetings starting at 9 AM at the Odd Fellows Hall in Milwaukie. You can find the details of the polling process by reading the Baronial Polling Announcement that was posted in early August. The letter of intent and SCA resumes of Felix and Vivien will be posted in the next few days for your consideration.
While we wind down our tenure as your Baron and Baroness, we encourage all citizens, members or not, to be a part of this process. Members within the Barony will receive a polling form, but you do not have to be a paid member to offer your thoughts on these candidates. You can contact the Seneschal of Three Mountains and let her know you would like to offer your advice and she will tell you how to convey it to the Crown.
