In the time since our last Council, his Excellency attended Carnevale di Venezia hosted by Their Excellencies of Dragon’s Mist. He had a wonderful time at this event. During court, he had the honor to deliver two Youth and Family Activity pins to our youth Champion, Gilbert of Dumfries. He has been recognized for his Division 1 work in Family Life, as well as Division 1 Calligraphy and Illumination. In addition His Excellency chose to recognize two Ladies for their inspiration and work with a token. First Beak Bell of Dumfries in recognition of the effort and care it takes to raise a Champion such as Gilbert and second to Sarah MacGregor for being such a moving and steadfast inspiration to our rapier Champion. Both received a pearl from the hand of the Baron.
In the future, we still do not have a Yule event being planned (currently we are told that Heavy and Rapier Championship is being planned for proposal). A few people have stepped forward to teach classes and help in many little ways. However, as a Barony and as a Kingdom, we are in desperate need of those willing to step forward to coordinate and run events on a local and Kingdom level. In 2019, both Crown Tournaments, July Coronation and Collegium have yet to have bids put in. Local events are the perfect way to improve your skills and to help fill this need in the future. We ask that you speak with our Seneschal if you have any interest in starting down this path of service.
Also, we will be publishing a request for bids to have new circlet boxes made for the Baronial circlets, as well as new Sergeant regalia. These requests will be published to the Baronial website this week. If you have anyone that may be interested in submitting a bid, please let them know of this upcoming opportunity.
We are holding Baronial encampment this summer for this wishing to join us during the tourney season. Our progress at this time is as follows:
