Letter from the Coronet – February 2018

Greetings to officers and populace of the Barony of Three Mountains,

This last month has been quiet, but not uneventful. Word has reached our ears that two of our Champions are reaching higher to exhibit their prowess. Jill Blackhorse is competing for Kingdom Arts & Science Champion, and Thomas O’Malley will be competing in the Queens Rapier Champion Tournament. Erika and I hope to day trip and cheer our Champions on to success and we encourage all to come and help us.

We also have some sad news to report. Asha ap Myrddin was an active member of the Barony in the 80’s here in Portland. She later became part of Pastiche, a well-known merchant business oft seen at Kingdom events even today. This last month Asha passed away. We would like to extend our condolences to her friends and family for their loss.

And finally, we would extend a call to arms. We don’t currently have events planned for Heavy and Rapier Champions tournaments, and our Yule celebration. These can be simple events, both day trip activities traditionally, but ones that require some time to ensure a viable site location. With appropriate guidance, these events are viable for someone new to running an event. We ask everyone to please consider taking on this challenge this year.

Here is our progress at this time:

  • 2/24 Stromgard Founding Revel, Vancouver, WA
  • 3/3 Kingdom Arts & Sciences/Queens Rapier Champion Tournaments, Ocean Shores, WA (day trip)
  • 3/17 Summits Coronet, Terra Pomeria, Turner, OR (day trip)
  • 3/24 Carnevale di Venezia, Dragon’s Mist, Banks, OR

Yours In Service To The Dream

Sebastiaen & Erika
Baron and Baroness Three Mountains
