Arts & Science Minister Report – June 2016

Greetings to Their beloved Excellencies, our loyal officers, and our stunningly gorgeous populace!

The first official craft night (2nd Tuesdays) happened last week. We had a small but friendly turnout, and a good time was had by all, including my cats. Percy in particular learned a valuable lesson about sticking his paws into moving spinning wheels.

The first two sewing nights (2nd and 4th Tuesdays) were well-attended, with an average of 4 people each night. It was a good opportunity for attendees to make progress on works-in-progress and get assistance from other folks with sewing skills.

Classes at the 3M Social Night continue! June was a class on basic research, and was encouragingly well attended. The handout is available at

July: German “squid” hat by Miriam Pike (Idonia Sherwood)
Aug: Leather money pouch by Fjorlief InHaga
Sept: Woven buttons by H.L. Khanzara of Samarqand (Jennifer Olson)
Oct & Nov: (2 part series) Viking wire weaving by Vivien NicUldoon
Dec: Children’s Tunics by Carith de Cuevas
