Arts & Science Minister Report – July 2016

Greetings to Your gracious Excellencies, industrious officers, and of course our ravishing populace:

SO MANY events!!

  • Aug 12-14: Archery Academy has a lovely slate of A&S classes lines up, organized by Spritzie. We will also have an A&S Display area on Saturday, so bring out something to show off or get help with.
  • Oct 8: Arts Unframed is happening again! Imagine a free-form pile of artisans demo-ing, chatting, performing, learning, and sharing. Kent , WA.
  • Oct 1:  3M A&S Championship. It’s not too late to enter!  One entry with detailed documentation is required. Entrants must also teach their judges how to construct one aspect of your entry.  Please contact Madame Jacqueline de Lioncourt, our current champion, if you have questions or if you want to enter.

  • Nov 11-13: The An Tir Collegium – a special set of classes aimed at helping people improve their A&S and research – is a new Kingdom level event that aims at expanding both the quantity and quality of competition entries. Tri-Cities, WA
  • Sept Crown (2nd-5th) will be the site of a Tourney Garb contest as well as classes. Hood River, OR.

The July episode of the official craft night (held every 2nd Tues at my home) had a small uptick in attendance. Books were shared, artistic commissions were brokered, and cats were petted. Please join us next month!

The unofficial sewing night (every 2nd and 4th Tues) was cancelled last week but should be back on track this month. Please check the Facebook group

The July social night class was a German “squid” hat by Miriam Pike (Idonia Sherwood).
